Inside a private prison’s $150M deal to detain immigrants in New Mexico

During a stop for gas in April outside Albuquerque, N.M., Diego Navarro was swept up in the billion-dollar business of immigration incarceration. Navarro was sent to a detention center run by CoreCivic, the country’s second-largest for-profit prison contractor.
