Juan Luis García Hernández is a research fellow at the Texas Tribune. He is also part of the Alfred Friendly Press Partners Fellowship program, which brings professional journalists from developing countries to U.S. news organizations. Garcia is a reporter for Sin Embargo, based in Mexico City, where he has written about everything from drug cartel activity to fracking. Last year, he covered the 72 United Nations General Assembly in New York through the Reham al-Farra fellowship, a UN journalism program. He loves chess, soccer, and dance latin music.
