Kate Looby is the chief development officer for The Center for Investigative Reporting. Passionate about protecting democracy, she helps raise the resources needed to support the critical work CIR does every day. She works with institutions and individuals to help the organization achieve its philanthropic goals.
Prior to joining CIR, Looby worked for the Sierra Club in Oakland, California, and Planned Parenthood in South Dakota. When she's not working with donors and funders, you'll find her creating meals to enjoy with family and friends, reading, working out or playing with her two standard poodles. Looby is based in CIR’s Emeryville, California, office.
