Washington, D.C., and Emeryville, Calif. (Jan. 26, 2015) — Reveal from The Center for Investigative Reporting and PBS NewsHour, co-anchored by Gwen Ifill and Judy Woodruff, will collaborate in 2015 to bring investigative stories to NewsHour, on air and online. For several years, the two organizations have worked together on individual stories. This partnership will extend the reach of Reveal, CIR’s new website and one-hour investigative show, airing on public radio stations nationwide, and will further expand NewsHour’s commitment to bringing original investigative productions to its audience.

“The work of Reveal closely aligns with the NewsHour’s objective to bring in-depth and original reporting to our audience, both on air and online,” said executive producer Sara Just, who joined PBS NewsHour in September. “This partnership enables us to cover more ground with the excellent reporters and producers at Reveal, and we believe our audience will appreciate these insightful stories in the months to come.”

”As one of the premier broadcast news outlets, NewsHour has always been an engaged and enthusiastic partner of CIR, willing to cover a broad range of investigations,” said Amanda Pike, CIR’s director of video. “We’re thrilled to be able to solidify our relationship with them to produce impactful investigative reporting both on broadcast and online.”

One of CIR and NewsHour’s first collaborations took place in 2011, with a story about abuse of female inmates in Iran during the Green Revolution. Since then, the organizations have co-produced numerous investigations, including those on food for the world’s growing population and police surveillance techniques.

Reveal and NewsHour also will collaborate with NewsHour’s Student Reporting Labs, to engage youth across the U.S. with information and news that impacts their lives.
